The Solar Proof Trust Rank is a ranking method calculated automatically from publicly available information. It is not a definitive measure of how trustworthy a solar installer is — think of it as an informed starting point for a brand-new prospect researching a solar company.

It pulls together a range of signals to estimate how a new customer would likely perceive an installer’s trustworthiness.

What it looks at

• Customer reviews available online (Google, Facebook and ProductReview.com.au) and verified reviews here on Solar Proof
• Overall online and social-media presence (website, Google Business Profile, Facebook, LinkedIn)
• Verified accreditations & memberships (CEC, Solar Accreditation Australia, NETCC and others)
• Years in operation (where known)
• Profile completeness — how much detail the installer has added to their listing
• Whether installs are done by in-house staff or subcontractors
• Breadth of the business and recent installation activity

Where we have gaps in our information, we fill in a neutral default (usually 50%) — which commonly happens when no customer reviews are available yet.

How installers can improve their Trust Rank

A few straightforward steps make a real difference:

1. Earn more genuine 5-star reviews on Google, Facebook and ProductReview.com.au.
2. Keep an active, up-to-date presence — a current website, Google Business Profile, Facebook and LinkedIn.
3. Claim your accreditations (CEC, Solar Accreditation Australia, NETCC and more) — we verify them before they show.
4. Complete your profile: logo, an “about” bio, the panel/inverter brands you install, case studies and products.
5. Tell us your years in business, your in-house vs subcontractor install setup, and your recent installation volume.
